Position Summary







The Associate Scientist, Cell Line Development is responsible for using the patented GPEx? technology to create high performance stable cell lines using a non-replicative retrovector system.







These procedures include creation of continuous stable cell lines, routine maintenance of cell lines, accurate documentation, design of and participation in experiments and interpretation of data.







Responsibilities will also include examination of client timelines for accuracy, participation in client teleconferences and review of client reports with minimal supervision.







In concert with Catalent's Patient First philosophy, this role is dedicated to integrity and pursuit of excellence using Catalent's patented GPEx? technology to create novel and generic therapeutics to improve the lives of patients worldwide.







The Role





+ Carries out experiments, and analyzes data work on projects involving research/innovation and process improvements



+ Works on special client projects, including client interaction as appropriate/necessary



+ Identifies and makes preliminary independent decisions on experimental and client work



+ Writes complex procedural standard operating procedures (SOPs)









The Candidate





+ Ph.D. in Biotechnology, or related field with no previous laboratory experience or MS in Biotechnology, or related field with 1 year of industry laboratory experience, Bachelors or Associates Degree in Biotechnology, or related field, with at least 3 - 5 years experience in a laboratory environment



+ Aseptic technique experience required



+ Mammalian cell culture experience is required







+ Good documentation practices (GDP) knowledge required



+ Experience writing standard operating procedures required
