Serving federal agencies and the Intelligence Community for more than 50 years, the Intelligence group helps our clients meet their mission needs by providing trusted advisors, leading-edge technologies, and innovative solutions.ResponsibilitiesThe Satellite Systems Engineer provides Systems Engineering/Systems Integration `domain expertise in Satellite operations and communications. The successful candidate will be well informed on and apply modern best practices of a satellite system's life cycle (e.g. requirements, engineering designs, documentation, usability, integration, test, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, decommissioning) to the customer's satellite engineering domain. This position requires both insight and experience in a wide range of communications activities to include technical assistance in the design, development, evaluation, and operations of end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. The selected candidate will have the aptitude to assess processes and create efficiencies continuously while leading RF/SatComm related projects and must have experience in and knowledge of satellite/sensor operation, processing, and distribution. The candidate will interact with multiple stakeholders to include end users and will lead technical consultation and exchange, and provide support and recommendations to the customer. The successful candidate requires an understanding of the Community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on satellite operations, ground processing systems, and distribution.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical review and assessment of technologies, concepts and systemsAnalyze alternatives to optimize performance and improve understanding of systems architecture and componentsProvide support to satellite operations center activities, observe system health, identify and troubleshoot system issuesPrioritize system issues to be addressed in upcoming development/O&M updatesPrepare deliverables that may include collection data, gap analyses, utilization analyses, statistical and forecasting analyses, presentations, written reports and recommendationsProvide subject matter expertise and best practices to teams reviewing and assessing CONOPS and productsProvide support and technical consultation, recommendations, technical exchange, and support to operational planningLead/support end-to-end system testingQualificationsTop Secret/SCI w/PolyBS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or related technical fieldStrong technical understanding of systems engineering and integration of satellite systems and subsystemsExperience with mission planning, control and processing functions in support of space and ground architectureExperience identifying user and enterprise needs/requirementsExperience analyzing communication link budgetsExperience with modeling & simulation and comparative analysisProblem-solving and analytical skillsCommunication skills to support written deliverables, group discussion and oral presentationsDesiredExperience developing models & simulations in STK and/or MATLABFamiliarity with intelligence organizations, disciplines, systems and processesQualificationsQualificationsRequires 16+ years with BS/BA or 14+ years with MS/MA or 10+ years with Ph.D.Top Secret/SCI w/PolyBS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or related technical fieldStrong technical understanding of systems engineering and integration of satellite systems and subsystemsExperience with mission planning, control and processing functions in support of space and ground architectureExperience identifying user and enterprise needs/requirementsExperience analyzing communication link budgetsExperience with modeling & simulation and comparative analysisProblem-solving and analytical skillsCommunication skills to support written deliverables, group discussion and oral presentationsDesiredExperience developing models & simulations in STK and/or MATLABFamiliarity with intelligence organizations, disciplines, systems and processesAbout PerspectaWhat matters to our nation, is what matters to us.
