Job Summary
The IT Director is responsible for the leadership of the IT team and IT function for the entire organization. Plans and implements additions, deletions and major modifications in pursuit of IT and business goals. Assesses needs across enterprise and within individual business units to determine strategies for meeting business objectives. Modifies existing IT systems or develops new approaches to meet future business needs. This role relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals.

Essential Functions
People and Customer Service:
Responsible for oversight of managing, hiring, training and developing IT department employees.
Clearly articulate and communicate regularly with both staff and non-IT personnel to review strategic goals, and initiatives, promote team building and work to provide professional growth paths for staff.
Provide leadership on complex technical issues, mentor IT staff.
Ensure timely resolution to all hardware and software support issues for all computer users at Seattle Goodwill.
Ensure customer focus and satisfaction, acting as a customer advocate, frequently communicating with customers and managing customer expectations by developing a service culture within the IT organization.

Directs the IT Team in developing and implementing strategic IT vision and roadmap to meet business objectives, maintain cost effectiveness and competiveness of the enterprise's IT infrastructure and hardware.
Represent the IT department in all computer hardware and software evaluation, selection and implementation projects, serving as project manager where appropriate.
Identify areas of improvement in technology and employees as related to performance, compliance, security and alignment with strategic vision and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects.
Develop and manage IT policies and procedures.
Introduce and promote project management methodologies throughout the IT organization.
Create processes to efficiently document maintenance activities, failure analysis results, incident reports, penetration analysis, audit results and activities related to management of projects.
Develops and manages strategic vendor and managed services relationships.

Budget and Assets:
Identifies and implements best practices for optimizing IT costs, improving system performance, and ensuring service-level requirements are met.
In collaboration with management, prepare and control Seattle Goodwill's IT capital budget, develop and execute departmental budget and strategic plans.
Make recommendations to Leadership Team members, ensure appropriate allocation of IT resources across all users based on need and funding.

Directs the IT team in development, implementation and maintenance of all computer networks and infrastructure supporting Seattle Goodwill's retail, Job Training and Education (JTE) and administrative operations, including point-of-sale, accounting, human resources, classroom technology, access to the Internet and all forms of electronic mail.
Assess current IT environment and asset allocation to ensure optimal performance.

Security and Compliance:
Maintains confidentiality of organization, project, fiscal, and human resources information.
Ensure copyright enforcement of software owned by Seattle Goodwill.
Ensures security best practices, including securing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and PCI compliance.
Upholds safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
Assist in other duties or projects as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years in a management role. Proven understanding of balancing customer priorities, delivering cost effective solutions, and driving process optimization.
Ability to clearly articulate expectations and goals. Supports a learning environment.
Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Experience in Microsoft Office & Windows desktop server software, VMware, security best practices, and PCI compliance. CISSP, PCIP, PMP preferred. Working knowledge of PMI project management fundamentals. Has foundations of ITIL practices in all aspects in regards to continual service management. Understanding of VDI environments. Has working understanding of cloud infrastructure design and functionality (AWS/Azure/O365). Prefer SaaS experience with a forward-thinking technology perspective.
Preferred experience working with non-profit organizations.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid WA State driver's license.

Essential Physical Abilities:
Lifting and carrying 30-50 pounds; to reach above head level, developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; standing for long periods of time; frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain).

Working Conditions:
Primarily office environment with occasional retail store environment. This role may require some travel to store locations and for offsite meetings and events. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
