Our client is seeking a Cost Engineer to join their team of professionals. This position is based in Long Beach, CAJob DescriptionUnder general supervision, performs or supervises complex Project Control activities, develops totally integrated cost control programs and coordinates estimate development with the Project Estimator for a project.Performs cost control functions including; development of Work Breakdown and coding structure for control and integrity of work defined by the contract, establishes baseline budget, comparison of actual costs and commitments with the baseline.Analyzes variances in cost performance against the plan, communicates the reasons for issuance of variance and recommends solutions or recovery plans to Project Management about cost impact or delays.Provides forecasting of project cost at completion and trends / change management, contingency evaluation, profit / risk analysis.Project status reporting will include progress and performance with associated charts, analyze deviations from approved budget, cost report, cash flow status, staffing plan, key issues and concerns.Develops and analyzes the Project Income Statement reserves, and prepares the Sensitivity Analysis for management. Provides meaningful, accurate historical data.Basic Job Requirements? Accredited four (4) year degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Finance, or global equivalent in applicable field of study and four (4) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements? Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors? Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job? Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines? Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner?
